Joel Clemons Jazz Concert

Pianist-Composer Joel Clemons is set to perform with his Jazz Band in the Great Room at Sedona Creative Life Center on Thursday, September 23, 2004 for one show only, beginning at 7:30 pm.  Advance tickets are $15 each and can be purchased in Sedona at Crystal Magic, Golden Word Book Centre and at Sedona Chevron Tourist Stop, all located on Hwy 89A.  If seats are still available on the night of performance, $20 tickets will be offered at the theater door.  As seating is limited, advance purchase of tickets is recommended.

Timing of the Joel Clemons concert in Sedona seems appropriate in that it will be held at the beginning of the Sedona Jazz on the Rocks Benefit Festival.  Although the Joel Clemons concert is not officially part of the festival's schedule of events, it most certainly lends support to the festival's declared mission of Jazz for the Next Generation.  With already 5 originally composed albums completed to his credit within a 44 month span and with 3 more albums due to be released before the end of this year, twenty-something young Joel Clemons could make a persuasive case for being a member in good standing of "the Next Generation."

Smooth Jazz? How about "Fresh Squeezed" Jazz?  Here is what Entertainment Today has to say about Joel Clemons and his style of straight ahead composition and performance: "dripping with class… dynamo and a fine songwriter.  Traditional and Modern at the same time, the emerging Clemons is a Breath of Fresh Air."

Jazz On The Rocks, Clemons style, is likely to be worth a listen for many music fans, regardless of age or genre preference. It is simply rock solid and built to last.  For a preview of his concert, check out Joel's music on his website:

CDs are available locally at Sedona Books & Music, Sedona Chevron Tourist Stop and in Flagstaff at Gopher Sounds and Hastings Books & Music. CDs can also be ordered online at

"Happiness isn't so hard to find, If you're living life your own way.
Trust yourself and take a chance, Forget what other people say.
Don't worry if you stumble now and then, 'Cause everybody gets their knocks.
What really matters most my friend, Is living life JAZZ ON THE ROCKS."
