Traveling to Sedona

To travel to Sedona Creative Life Center from outside Arizona, you would normally fly to Phoenix and then drive or take an Airport Shuttle from Phoenix to Sedona (driving time is about two hours by car or two and a half hours by shuttle). Below are instructions for driving to SCLC from Phoenix as well as from Flagstaff. Information about the Sedona/Phoenix Airport Shuttle is also included.

Directions from Phoenix Airport to SCLC

Drive onto Interstate 10 west at the Phoenix Airport exit, and then onto Interstate 17 north toward Flagstaff. Follow Interstate 17 north from Phoenix about 100 miles. Exit at state highway 179 (exit 298). Go about 15 miles north on highway 179 and turn right on Schnebly Hill Rd (if you get to the "Y" where Hwy 179 ends at Hwy 89A, you have gone a quarter mile too far). Go about a quarter mile up Schnebly Hill Rd to number 333 and turn left into SCLC.

Directions From Flagstaff

If it is snowing, take Interstate 17 south from Flagstaff about 41 miles to state highway 179. From there, follow the directions above as if coming from Phoenix. This route takes about an hour from Flagstaff to Sedona.

If the weather is good, take Interstate 17 south from Flagstaff. Go only about 2 miles south of the junction of Interstate 40 and 17, and exit at US highway 89A (exit 337). This takes you on a breathtaking 25 mile drive through Oak Creek Canyon. In Sedona, the third traffic light you come to is the junction of hwy 179 (the main crossroads in Sedona). Turn left onto Hwy 179, go a quarter mile and turn left again onto Schnebly Hill Rd. Go about a quarter mile up Schnebly Hill Rd to number 333 and turn left into SCLC. This route through Oak Creek Canyon takes about 40 minutes from Flagstaff to Sedona.

Sedona-Phoenix Shuttle Service

Sedona/Phoenix Airport Shuttle: This shuttle leaves Phoenix Airport for Sedona seven times per day, from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. In the Sedona to Phoenix direction, the shuttle picks up passengers both in West Sedona and in the Village of Oak Creek, also seven times per day, from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Call 928-282-2066 for reservations. Flying to Sedona: If you are a pilot, you can also fly a small plane into Sedona Airport.
