Isn't Anarchy bad?

  • The word anarchy is one that inspires visceral fear in many. It did for me when I first heard it! Most people associate it with chaos, danger, and destruction. Men with black capes lobbing bombs into crowds. But like much of what we were taught in school, it’s not true.
  • However, the word “anarchy” in Greek literally means “No rulers” or “No masters.” Emphasis on the rulers. Would you prefer to rule yourself, or let other people rule your life?
  • Most people are anarchists, they just don’t know it yet. They choose where to work, whom to love, where to live, etc. Only dominator, control-freak authoritarian-type personalities have a problem with that concept, which is why they do everything they can to malign the term.

So what is Anarchy then?

  • Anarchy means freedom. It means you can do what you want as long as it’s peaceful.
  • An important philosophical premise to anarchists is the Non-Aggression Principle. It states that it is NEVER moral to initiate aggression against a peaceful person. I won’t bother you, you don’t bother me. On the other hand is the Self-Defense Principle, that being it is always moral for a person to defend themself against coercion or aggression. Put in simpler terms: Do no harm, but take no shit.
  • True anarchists, real spiritual anarchists are some of the most peaceful, kind, loving, high-consciousness individuals you’re likely to meet! You’ll see if you attend the conference what we mean.

Why You Should Go To Anarchizona?

  • The energy being around other people who believe they own themselves and believe in freedom is invigorating. If you have been to other freedom-themed events, such as the Jackalope Festival, Porcfest, or Anarchapulco, you probably know what we mean. They are experiences you remember for a long long time, simply because they're so real.
  • Our goal is to keep the fire going from those events, allowing freedom lovers another chance to meet, connect, and extend a hand of welcome to new people who share the same vision.
