You may not expect to see a group of clowns in Uptown Sedona, in the middle
of Oak Creek, or roaming around in
the forest. But since April 1st 2009 an organization called the
Temple Of Sacred Silliness otherwise known
as T.O.S.S. and its "Clowngregants" have
been playing around all over Sedona, wearing outlandish and colorful costumes
and bright red noses, and spreading laughter and joy wherever they roam!
T.O.S.S. was founded by a man known as Sponge Nose
Short Pants Bag Man Bob. You can call him
Bag Man Bob for short, and a man by the name of
ConfuseUs the Clown. They know the profound
healing effects of laughter and playfulness and how to awaken that in others.
They realize that what people really needed amongst these troubling economic and
world events is some light hearted laughter and silliness. To be playful like
children and to help people to let go and laugh! So together they gathered a
few silly friends and began playing around all over Sedona.
Bag Man Bob has been studying and
practicing Buddhism for over 20 years and has an extensive knowledge of
spiritual (not religious) practices from around the world which he shares with
people in fun and playful ways. He helps people awaken their childlike
playfulness, joy, and wonder and not be so serious!
Amongst all their playing they also put on several beneficial events in
different places around Sedona. Like the Sacred
Silliness Laugh Yoga Group which meets the 2nd Sunday of each month
at 7 pm in one of the Red Rock High
Schools 3 fields. Here they use a few traditional laugh yoga techniques and
have invented a few of their own to provoke genuine laughter and spontaneous
