Mindfulness Meditation
with Allen Atkins, Ph.D.
Mindfulness Meditation (Vipassana)
is part of an ancient tradition originated by The Buddha, in India, 2,600 years
ago. The practice involves both concentration and contemplative methods of
meditation. The meditation helps people learn to focus on the present moment in
daily life.
Sedona Creative Life Center, located at 333 Schnebly Hill Road, will
have classes every Thursday evening for 6 weeks, beginning September 18, and
continuing through October 30, 2008 (no class Oct 9) . The instructor is Allen Atkins who
began meditating in 1970 and has been teaching since 1979. He has studied
with many Western teachers and has also studied in Burma and India.

It is useful if participants attend all 6 classes, as each class builds on
previous instruction and practice. Wear loose, comfortable clothing.
If you want to sit on the floor, bring a firm cushion and a blanket.
Chairs will be available for those who do not wish to sit on the floor.
The cost is only $20 for the entire 6 weeks of classes. To register please
call 928-523-7340 (daytime) or 928-522-9218 (evenings).
