A free Community Concert by pianist, Angeline
Schmid, and Cellist, Noel Snyder,
will be presented on Sunday, October 5,
2008, from 2:30 to
4:30 pm in the Great Room at Sedona
Creative Life
Center. The Schmid-Snyder
Duo is well known to local audiences after their two performances at the Sedona
Public Library and their two concerts at Sedona
Creative Life
Center. Guest
artist, Konrad Owens, clarinetist from
Florida will again join Schmid-Snyder for this concert
which will feature two trios by Beethoven and Glinka, music expressly written
for clarinet, cello and piano.

Noel Snyder
Cellist, Noel Snyder is a graduate of the prestigious
Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia where he studied with Leonard Rose and
Orlando Cole. He also attended Swarthmore College and Cornell University where
he obtained his Ph.D. in evolutionary biology and has recently co-authored two
books, “Introduction to the California Condor” and “Raptors of North America”.
As a cellist, Snyder was a charter member of the Bay Festival String Quartet in
Rockport, Maine, and over the years he has performed solo concerts throughout
the states, including many performances with Schmid.
Angeline Schmid
Pianist, Angeline Schmid, is a graduate of the Eastman
School of Music in Rochester, NY and the University of Colorado. She
taught at Mansfield University in Pennsylvania, and many of her former students
are professors in colleges throughout the country including San Diego, Boston,
Washington, D.C., and the Cincinnati Conservator. As a recitalist and
collaborative pianist, Schmid performed in the Northeast and in New England
before coming to Sedona.
Konrad Owens
Clarinetist, Konrad Owens is a graduate of the Oberlin
Conservatory and has appeared as soloist with chamber music groups throughout
the Northeast. He was also a faculty member at
Mansfield
University in
Pennsylvania
where he performed concerts with pianist Angeline Schmid. In Sedona he
appeared as guest artist with the Schmid-Snyder Duo in 2006 and 2007.
